Sandy Palombo - Founder/ Director
CH.I.L.D.'s mission is to deliver
exemplary programs to all special needs children.
A strong commitment to our children ensures that
we strive for excellence. The families, and the
faces of our exceptional children support us in
our efforts. It is they we learn by, and it is they
we live to teach.
Sandy Palombo is the founder and originator of CH.I.L.D. Inc (1993). whom
pioneered the MDIM© treatment model. Mrs. Palombo has a Specialized Honors
Bachelors degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Education Degree, a Master in
Education with a specialist in Special Education, and is working towards
completing a Doctorate in Education. She holds professional memberships in
several organizations in Canada and the US. Mrs. Palombo has been awarded
several honors including her nomination as Conference Chair for the Executive
Committee for the Research Special Interest Group-RSIG, at Ontario Association
on Developmental Disabilities-OADD. She also coordinated the training and
practicum for the first Autism Pilot Project with York University. Mrs. Palombo
has extensive training and certificates in the field of autism and developmental
disabilities. She has specific training in Discrete Trial methods, Applied
Behavioral Analysis, Lovaas method, Brain Gym-Level one, Greenspan's Infancy and
Early Childhood Training Course, Picture Exchange Communication Systems and
Hanen Method. Mrs. Palombo has also attended and participated in numerous
conferences, lectures, seminars and workshops across Canada and the USA.She holds professional memberships

Angie Sciabbarrasi -
Director/Chief Administrative Officer
Angie Sciabbarrasi has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology and
Anthropology. Mrs. Sciabbarrasi has been an active member in the business
community since 1995 running various businesses and participating in countless
community events in York Region. She has successfully advocated and raised
awareness for Autism in York Region, the Separate School Board, and for Giant
Steps Toronto/York Region.
Mrs. Sciabbarrasi is currently on the Board of Giant
Steps Toronto and St. Clare Catholic School. She is a member of Autism Ontario
and fundraises to help children pay for IBI therapy in York Region who do not
qualify for funding. With the birth of her second child, Mrs. Sciabbarrasi
embraced the world of special needs and supported her son with his health
complications and developmental delays. She became an expert at finding the best
therapies for her child and never gave up hope that he could walk and speak. Her
perseverence and passion to help her son led her through a world she never knew
existed. With the diagnosis of Autism of her son, Mrs. Sciabbarrasi decided to
use her business experience in the corporate world and join forces with Sandy
Palombo at CH.I.L.D Inc. and offered her parental expertise into parenting a
child with special needs.
Mrs. Sciabbarrasi resides in York Region and is a
proud mother of a daughter and her son and is known for her passion in
entertaining.
